The Everlasting New Covenant Of Peace
June 21, 2026 Preacher: Dr Gary Cass Series: Anchored In Christ | Called to Courageous Endurance
Scripture: Hebrews 8:13
Hebrews 8 declares that the Old Covenant was becoming obsolete and ready to vanish away, making room for the greater realities found in Jesus Christ. This sermon explores the transition from the Mosaic Covenant to the New Covenant and examines the prophetic promises that anticipated Christ's redemptive work.
Drawing from Hebrews, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Galatians, this message highlights the superiority of Christ as the Great High Priest and Mediator of a better covenant. The sermon explains how the New Covenant accomplishes what the Old Covenant could never achieve: inward transformation, complete forgiveness of sins, saving knowledge of God, and eternal security in Christ.
Special attention is given to the biblical theme of the "everlasting covenant" and the "covenant of peace" promised throughout the Old Testament. These promises find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ, who removes the curse of the law, secures reconciliation with God, and guarantees the perseverance of His people.
This study provides a biblical understanding of covenant theology, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, and the believer's assurance under the New Covenant of grace.
