Part I: Lord Of All

October 6, 2024 Preacher: Dr Gary Cass Series: Elections and the Christian Conscience

Topic: Kingship of Christ Scripture: Romans 13:1–7

In this first installment of our Election and the Christian Conscience Series 2024, we delve into the absolute lordship of Jesus Christ as presented in Acts 10:36—"He is Lord of all"—and its profound implications on how Christians should engage in politics and civic duties. This sermon emphasizes that no area of life is outside the scope of Christ’s sovereignty, including government, family, and personal responsibility. Drawing from John Frame’s Lordship theology and the teachings of theologian Abraham Kuyper, we explore how Christians are called to live with a holistic, Christ-centered approach to the political process.

This message also addresses key biblical principles on civic engagement, the role of government, and the separation of church and state, based on passages such as Romans 13 and Luke 20:25. Christians are urged to uphold biblical values in every area of life, including voting, by understanding their God-given responsibilities in the political arena. We are called to glorify God in all things and engage the culture for Christ.
